Canulated vs. Non-Canulated Compression Screws

Compression bone screws are available with canulated or non-canulated configurations.

Most of our compression screws are canulated and offer several advantages. They allow for more accurate placement, can be inserted percutaneously, can use guide pins for provisional fixation, and reduce the chance of angulation.

The Trax Surgical compression screw system also includes a set of non-canulated titanium screws. These headed, break-away screws are designed for small bones or bone fragments or where small screws are desired for optimum bone reconstruction, repair osteotomy, and fusion.
